Truck Lite Phase 7 LED headlight installed - Pics and review
Just got my Truck Lite Phase 7 from Discount Fleet Supply. Just a quick plug first. DFS got this headlight to me in no time at all. Ordered it last Thursday and got it today. Packaged very well and price couldn't be beat. If you order from them and use the code HDLED5 you will get an additional 5% off. Plus shipping is free.
Now on the the headlight. Install was a snap. It is as easy as removing your trim ring, unscrewing the three retaining screws, and replacing your stock headlight housing with the TL headlight. All of about 10 minutes total. The thing looks good too. The black center piece in the middle gives a smoke look when it is off. But when it is on this thing is bright. Brighter than the Phase 6. I did have a chance to take a quick ride and this light does what they say. It really lights up the side of the road. And the distance is incredible. The only bad thing I can say is there is a slight hotspot of light. But it almost gets drowned out with the rest of the light. All and all I am very impressed. IMO this one rates right up there with the HD LED headlight now. At half the cost. I will have to wait until tomorrow to see how daytime visibility is. But I honestly can't see it being an issue. And unfortunately there is a slight protrusion with the stock trim ring. Not as bad as the Phase 5 and 6 but it is noticeable. It may not bother some but I am gonna pick up a frenched trim ring tomorrow.
Here are a few pics.

Update #2
Here are a few daytime pics. First one is on low beam. Second on hi beam. Plenty bright. These were taken from approximately 30'. I went back about 100' and still plenty visible. Third pic is at an angle. Unfortunately this looks like a weak spot in the TLP7. As you get closer to dead on it becomes more visible.
UPDATE #3
I now own a 2011 Road King and had added the TL P7 as well as the passing lamps. Also added the hi-beam bypass module that allows the passing lamps to stay on with hi-beams

Yes, and also, though this is the touring forum, does anyone know about using the stock trim ring with the TL7 on a 2010 FatBoy? I have asked elsewhere and no one seems to know. Thanks.

Same here. Ordered mine Thursday afternoon, it was at my door this afternoon. DFS sent it on in great time. Install is a breeze. I liked the aim of my factory light, so with the bike on the lift I marked the spot on the wall, then after the install I adjusted the TLP7 to the spot, dim line the same. I went for a ride with the Frenched ring off, so as to adjust when I got back if needed, because you cannot adjust with the Frenched ring on - no slot for the screwdriver. No follow up adjustment was needed.
In my haste to get on the road at dark, I overlooked putting the windshield on. This new light is a real bug target! I was pelted. But the light - outstanding. There is a small hot spot front center, and on my light it resembled the "V" of the Road King emblem. Imagine that! It's not bad, and actually serves as a small spot straight ahead. And on bright, this light is great. So to home I returned, and reinstalled my Frenched ring. I think these rings look great with the lights.
I have the matching passing lights ordered, Phatt says mid March, and they are a must with this new light, which drowns them out. I was riding down the road, flipping the passing lights on and off - very dim looking. Off the bike with all lights on - they have got to go! It's all good, all will be fine.
In summary, well made light, heavy unit, great lighting side to side.
I very much recommend it.
Oh, and on the bottom front and back of the box: Made In USA!
