Pfffttt. Overpriced!

No you won't need another battery.

fxdwg_rugby 03-16-2012 10:21 AM

I was told it will use 27amps.... My lights use 16 an that doesnt leave much else on a 45amp stator.

No Way

NO WAY will you need another battery. trust me, or look at GP's system with 1200 watts and he has nothing extra. There is a huge explanation why the amperage draw theory is wrong and i will make it very short and simple. You have a battery between your draws and your stator. There are plenty of guys here and everywhere else using this set up with no worrys. Give Paul Yaff a call and he will laugh when ya tell him that. Don't worry man, you will be all good.

second battery would just run down as well if your out drawing your stator.

Suggestion: Get another "my guy."

I just did this, amp& r/f p1 speakers $302.00 at sonix electronics, amp install kit- wal mart (delux I may add) 20.00, 5 1/4 to 6.5 speaker adapters-45.00 arc audio, there's cheaper & better adapters. Took me about 8 hours with lots of breaks to install, + you get to know your bike better.

I run FOUR TIMES what that system puts out,..........1200 watts/2 amps.............and do it on the STOCK HD battery and charging system !! It's been 3 years running, and no problems.

Like Carl said,..................you need a new 'my guy' !!

Dumb question number two: What year is your bike? Mine is a 1999 an I hope the wiring harness could handle it...

av ultra 03-19-2012 03:59 PM

My bike is a 10, but the amp power supply wire goes straght to your batt.(with a fuze) so there's no additonal strain on your factory harness.
