Default Seats

I took the longest ride yet on my 2011 FLHTK. The guy I bought this bike from thought the Saddleman's seat with a gel insert was the cat's meow. It is hard. I now officially hate it. I gotta do something else if I ever expect to get more than 300 miles in a day. What seats have some of you gone to that is soft and gentle on the buns while offering some support for the lower back. Whatever you recommend the only caveat I have is that it must have a backrest or at least a place for one.

What say you?

I swear it's our *** that breaks into the seat not the seat being broken in.
I had some real pain in my *** when this bike was new. Immediately I'm thinking of a new seat.....yadda yadda yadda.....

Never got around to changing it cause each thousand miles it got better n better.
Now I can stay in this saddle literally all day long. The seat that brought tears to my eyes is now my favorite most comfortable seat.

Therefore I believe it's your *** that needs to be broken in. Not the seat.

I did lots of long rides (up to 10 hours a day) on my Sundowner on my Sportster. My butt never complained. I have a TallBoy on my RKC to move me back because of my long legs and so far it is every bit as comfortable. (The TallBoy is a copy of the Sundowner, but moves you back 2 inches.)

Yea....I hear ya. My buddy and I were doing 5-6 hundred mile weekends so the miles came quick. The *** broke in to this particular seat and the rest is history.

Exclamation Sorry but..

(no pun intended)
...not another which seat do you like best thread!

You're gonna geta million different answers cause there about a million different configurations out there.
The best advise I can give you is to do a web search for Mean City Cycles.
They will customize your seat per your height weight and riding style.
I looked at their site last week and they seem to be reasonably priced as well.

Good luck!

I think anyone that has tried a Russell Daylong agrees it's the best seat out there. I have a Mustang Supertouring. It's pretty good, but no Russell.
