I'm Back

Hey all:

After a long 2wk absence and the sale of "Skully", one of the coolest Ultra's I've seen, I'm Back.

Per the Sig pict, I got a pristine '03, Custom painted Red, V-RodA with only 6900 miles.

The fact she has bags and a "fly screen" she must be a tourer.

Anyway, good to be back and let me tell you...When Harley goes to water cooling, and they will, you all are going to love this engine or some variation of it....

For an 1130cc engine, water cooled, it is incredibly fast...I mean fast.

Anyway, Just wanted to say hello.

skulmn aka Jeff

Cool ride, but the B Rod or V Glide will not easily overcome the asthetics element that is so attractive to most touring bike owners.

I hear you...But it won't be long that our GREAT air cooled engine won't meet EPA standards.

And I hear you...but, I'm not buying into that idea at all. What standards? What timeframe we talkin here? Current EFI HDs are quite clean burning. More stringent EPA standards in the future will be a bigger problem for automobiles than it will EFI Harleys, current HDs are fully capable of meeting emisions, and they can handle the heat, it's the riders who can't take the heat as a result of the EPA tune. Water cooled bikes overheat in stopped traffic too, even if they don't technically overheat they are hot as hell to sit on in stopped traffic also. I can appreciate your machine, but its not something I would be interested in ever, sorry, just doesn't meet my expectation of a touring Harley, no matter how fast it is, water cooled or not.

I hear you...If I want an Ol'School machine like my Ultra was I agree air cool fits the bill.

But I will say, with the V-Rod Harley did the best job of "hiding the radiator.

I had no intention of getting another bike so soon after I sold the Ultra for 1/2 of what I had into it, its chrome had chrome....But, this piece fit the bill for something so different I took the bait.
