Stop and Go Tire Plug Kit Put to use

I have carried this kit in my bike for about a year with a small slime compressor. Got to put it to use this weekend when a buddy got a flat in the middle of the Texas hill country. He had picked up a 1/8" screw. We followed the instructions and it worked like a charm. No glue or mess. Very easy to use. Took about 20 mins to read the instructions then plug and fill the tire. The little applicator tool is very cool. Was able to fill the tire to 38lbs no problem with the little slime compressor I picked up at Walmart. We would have had to ride for a while to get to a spot with cell reception to get a tow then go back to him so it was good I had it. He actually rode on it the rest of the weekend. Maybe not what I would do now in my old age (I used to ride on plugged tires all the time) but it never lost a pound of pressure. This would definitely get you where you could get the tire fixed. This is the one I got.

I used one on a memorial day weekend trip, picked up a nail 450 miles from home. Plugged the rear tire and rode 900 miles 2 Up the rest of the weekend. Got a new tire when I got home.

It's a great tool.

I don't think it would have helped this. I can't figure out how a 6 inch long 1/2 inch bolt with a 3/4 inch head stood up for me to run over it.
