I went Blackwall, tired of trying to keep the Slim whitewall clean....

I did like the thin whitewall look, but blackwall grew on me

I've had wide whites for 5 years (Dunlop 402's) and have no problem cleaning them with Mr. Clean Majic Erasers.

I got tired of looking at the grungy slim gray wall so I switched to blackwalls. My tires and wheels don't get enough attention when it comes time to wash the bike.

I found Dunlop Elite IIs with raised white letters. Anybody have these on their Ultra?

White wall tires give you a very restricted choice purely for the sake of vanity, I would not choose a tire based on the side wall color, if my tire of choice was available as a white wall then and only then would I consider them.

I have gone to Blackwall now and I think they make my white gold pearl Ultra look great.

When I bought my EG it had wide white walls on it. I think they look really good when white. For those of you that have the patience to clean them I commend you. I will be buying black wall when I buy my next tires.

I liked the look of the thin white-walls on my UC. However, when it came time to replace them I did some checking around. It turns out that having a local indie install Dunlop American Elites saved me $100.00 per tire over what the H-D dealerships wanted for the 407/408 set. If you do a search in this forum you'll find that most folks that are running the American Elites are really happy about handling and wear. I just couldn't see spending the extra $$$ for a narrow white-wall and less tire mileage.
