Exhaust torque spec 2011 FLHTK
I'm replacing my head pipe with a Fuel Moto 2-1-2 and need the torque spec.
Also putting on air cleaner and Power Vision. Hoping to wake this thing up a little bit and cool it down as well. I know....I need a service manual. Had one for the last bike. Haven't picked one up yet for this one. |
You definitely need to follow the sequence of steps.
From the 2010 service manual: After loosely installing header and installing the mufflers 1 tighten the bottom nut of the rear cylinder head flange to 9-18 inch-pounds 2 tighten top nut of rear cylinder to 100 - 120 inch-pounds 3 tighten the bottom nut to 100 - 120 inch-pounds 4 tighten the top nut of the front cylinder head flange to 9-18 inch-pounds 5 tighten the bottom nut of the front cylinder to 100 - 120 inch-pounds 6 tighten the top nut to 100 - 120 inch-pounds then tighten the remaining fasteners |

I just purchased a 2010 flhtk. Has the Vance & Hines header pipes with Rinehart exhaust. I began hearing an exhaust leak & the front pipe at the head exhaust port had only one nut left holding the flange on & it was just about off. I needed this info on torque but i cant get off work early enough yo get new exhaust nuts at the HD desler here's my question. What type, grade, size & thread type do I look for at a good nuts&bolts store???
Thanks, David |
Ok I hate to have to say this but I was referring to nuts. There !!!
