4 inch vs 3 1/2 inch rinehart slip ons

i just bought a 09 street glide and i have to change the stock mufflers (awfull) im going to put rineharts on it, i have them on my 07 road king and i have a power commander on it as well cause i could tell the difference in it power wise with out the pc on it.
1 place i read that 09 bikes have cat converters in them so u shouldnt use the 3 1/2 mufflers and on another site i read that i didnt have to re map ecm as it would be ok, would the same be true if i was to put the 4 inch ones on , would i or wouldnt i have to get the ecm remapped.

thanks in advance marcus

W/pipes only - no need for tune b/c there's not much of a change to worry about. If it was 100% exhaust swap then it would be good to re-tune for this mod.

Be on the lookout - I'm getting MGS TD exhaust soon so my Bub-7 TD's will be going up for sale soon. Probably looking at $400 which would be 1/2 price of new...they're 1.5yrs-old...will post in Touring sale section when swapped...

I don't think theres a difference in the 3.5 vs 4 rineharts other than outside diameter. I believe they use the same size baffle sio i dont understand why you shouldnt run 3.5? No need to reprogram with just slip-on's, just if you mess with the intake. Good luck, rinehart 4" sound great!

And unless your bike came from California, it doesn't have a cat.

You are correct, sir...pre 2010 touring didn't have CAT (only CA did) & that's why I was desperate to get my 09 a few years back...

Or buy the bike you want and remove the cat...lots of us have and it runs great!

So Iceman may I ask why are you getting rid of the bub 7's?

Like my wife says..."I'm never pleased" so she wonders why I never traded her after 26+ years of marriage. Honestly, I'm really happy w/the Bub TD's & didn't plan to swap, but MGS has some impressive gain w/their system so thought it might be worth a try. Also, they're giving me a nice military discount to boot so now's the time while I've got the bike racked for front-end swap.
