Default Sat on a 2013 Street Glide

I sat on a 2013 Street Glide today and it felt so much smaller/compact then my 2012 Road King Classic. I actually really liked the way it felt, if it wasn't for the deal I got on my RKC I think I would be kinda disappointed that I didn't go with the SG.

I checked out a used 2010 RK a couple of days before I bought my '13 SG. I've owned an RK in the past, but damn...it sure felt like I was sitting *really* high and forward on that bike compared to my '07 SG and '10 RG Custom.

I don't recall my '00 RK feeling like that. Definitely glad I went back with the SG.

IMO the fork mounted fairing being so close, and the handlebar position makes the street glide feel smaller. Whereas the RG has the bigger lower fairing way out in front of you, and the RK has no fairing so they both feel "open" and hence bigger.

A lot has to do with the seat.
Put a 2011 or newer Street Glide seat on yours and it will feel different.

Warning: Do not stare directly at the Street Glides! Prolonged staring will result in a massive hemorrhage of cash from your bank account. You have been warned.

Agreed.... that seat plus the 1" lower rear shocks make a big difference in feel.

The 2011 and up SG seat has much more of a bucket feel...and the narrow nose nakes it feel lower..... i actually scrapped the seat on my 2010 SG for a 2011 seat.

On a side note, i rode a 2013 CVO Road King and i HATED the seat...

thats funny guys. They are a money pit, but I love mine. I also liked my RKC, but with a fairing in front of you is no comparison

It's so true. Ask me how I know. Never mind, you can see from the pictures.

The SG feels smaller because of the fairing and sitting lower, but it handles bigger because of the weight of that fairing on the front wheel.

After owning the both bikes a few years, I have found that the chicks like the RKC and guys like the SG. Nothing wrong with curious babes walking up to touch your bike. I miss it.

You sit more "in" an SG, and w/a RK it is "on" was the feeling that I got from sitting on both.
