How long did this paint job last , considering the motor gets way hotter than a bbq grill, looks good , no harm no foul for the $$saving

A BBQ gets 2X as hot as a gas motor. That same paint is for wood stoves.

Welcome to the forum from Texas.

Like many newbies, you resurrected a 5 year old thread. Someone may chime in and give you an answer for turnaround time but it won't be Bobber Jake.

He last posted in 2014 and hasn't been on the forum for 1.5 years.

I don't know about engine cases, but I can tell you that when I did my exhaust this way, it still looked good after 2 years. that's when I got a wild hair and changed it out. the good thing about it is if you get a scratch or need some kind of touchup, you know the color is going to match.

I just looked at my invoice from my indie, I paid $503 total (includes labor, gaskets, fluids, etc.) to PC my transmission cover, cam cover, pushrod tubes, tappet block covers, upper and lower rocker box covers, and primary cover on my fat boy lo. Had this all done when I got air cleaner, exhaust, tuner, and cams installed.
