They have been around a while now and only one has been reported with problems that I recall. There are some very happy owners out there! Sounds like a bargain to me....

I would call BS on the 103HP statement; no one in their right mind would run this engine with a stock exhaust. I have over 2,300 miles on my 120R and it dynoed @ 125/125. You already have an Oil Cooler on your 103" so that'll save you a few $. You'll still need a Throttlebody & Injectors and you good to go. I installed mine in 2 weekends, broke it in with an SE Prot Tuner and various Smart Tunes.

Thanks for all the comments.

aviscomi, you have one of the threads that I have followed while doing my research. 125hp is a long ways from 103hp. I would be very happy with 125hp, and I don't think that it's unreasonable.

I was just doing some research of my own on Fuel Moto's site and found their 107" kit with 777 cams and ported heads was making 114/126 http://www.fuelmotousa.com/images/107TW777Bheads.jpg for roughly $3000 and their 103" stage II with ported heads (Does that make it a stage III) was making 110/117 http://www.fuelmotousa.com/dynochart...W777Bheads.jpg

This 120R without a warranty still seems a little too new for my tastes with the comparable numbers above. It's your money, spend it how you like it.

I initially started out going the Fuel Moto route, but after reserching prices I was able to get the 120R for $4800 and sold my 103" for $2100. Thus the net cost was $2700 + $500 for Throttle Body & Injectors. Also I plan on a Prochrager for this winters project and the 120R should bring me very close to the 200hp area.

I went to my local dealer today and asked some questions of the mechanic. Not sure I really liked what he had to say. I asked him if he could do the tuning and he said yes and he had done one recently. I asked him what kind of HP he got out of it. He said 103HP. He did say the owner had stock exhaust and a stock air cleaner.

What kind of dumb *** would expect 120 inch motor to breath through a stock air cleaner and pipe. Do some research and you will find 125/125(real world numbers) is what they are making at the rear wheel. I would love to see a fuel moto 107 try to beat my 120r.

So when you do the procharger, are you planning on addressing the crank at all? From what I have read, the 120R crank has some upgraded bearings, but that's about it..I could be wrong?

Thumbs up 120r

I just put the 120r in my 2007 FLHX which had a 103 stage 3. The 120r is the best value for the buck. I purchased mine at Lakeshore HD for $4800.00 and had HD of Tampa do the install. I went with the HPI 58mm throttle body, which accepts stock HD football or any other AC with that hole configuration. It also allowed me to keep my cruise control active(cables). I have a rinehart 2 into 1 exhaust with SE k&N filter, and 68t rear sprocket, SE super tuner, bike dynoed at 130HP 132tq. I have about 800 mile on the engine and will re tune at 1000 miles once the engine loosens up. With respect to no warranty, that is correct, however, HD Tampa offers an after market extended warranty which cover my bike, and it's NEW ENGINE, cost me $1200 for 4 years, and has a $50 deductible which is waved if you do the work thru them. And just to add some spark, a buddy of mine has a springer softtail with SE 110, with cam and head work, fast bike. I pulled him in forth gear with my bagger and never looked back. The 120r is a truly an amazing engine , it is quieter, smoother, and more drivable than my 103 ever was. Give it 5 years, and some version might even be HD's stock engine. GO FOR THE 120R, you won't be disappointed. One suggestion, do not go with the SE clutch setup, here's what I did. AIMS VT92, 340 spring, billet plate, stock clutch basket, and SE clutch plates. Very easy pull, and no slippage.

Frank @ Drago's stated that the stock 120R crank will be fine.
