Default 16 ultra limited brake pads

So just a random question. Is there any difference in the front and rear brake pads on my 16 ultra limited? The boxes each have a part number. But very close in numbers. 41852-08. And 41854-08. But by looking at the pads I say there identical ? Why the second part number?

Actually, the rear pads part number is 41852-08B, so it's had two revisions. To answer your question, though, I have no idea why. They do look identical.

Edit - I'm thinking it's because the rear pads come with grease/paste and the fronts do not. That's why the rears are more expensive.

I'm guessing 2 pads for the rear, and 4 pads for the front?

Ok so I have a set of front and a set of rear but want to do both front brakes. So can I use the back brakes I have on my other front caliber?

if they look the same-same color, same thickness, I'd say yes. All I was saying is that if you buy a whole 'set' for the front, there should be 4 pads. I ordered mine aftermarket, the fronts are different pads than the rears because I have polished rotors on the front.
