Default I want more power 02 Road King

I'm happy with the way she runs on the top end, but I would like a little more in the lower RPM range.

The current set up is, 95 CI, 203 cams, a Thunderheader and a Power Commander lllr (It's an old build). K&N Air Filter. It runs like a bat out of hell from about 65 MPH up, but it has a BIG dip at 2500RPM.

This is what I am thinking:
Power Commander V with Auto Tune
D&D Fatcat ( What baffle should I chose?)

Maybe change the Cam to???

I have done the SE Cam Plate upgrade.

What can I expect from these changes?

Thanks,

76FLH (still have it)

I may be wrong but the autotune is for bikes with O2 sensors. I have a PCV on my 03 Rk and autotune is not able to function.

Ever think about changing out the front pulley and belt? You could always drop in a baker 6 speed if that has you revving to high...

I would take it to a reputable tuner first before I started hucking money at it.

You say that the power is fine right ? There is just a power dip at 2500 ? tune it. You already have some great components on it , changing the pipe will matter very little, changing cams could though but it sounds like a tuning issue, my old bike had 203 cams but no header and there was no power dip whatsoever. Tune it man.

203s are low end cams and while I hate thunder headers they do make good power. I think bighearted is right on; get a proper tune before ya throw parts at it! Oh and learn to shift down...

Changing to the D&D Fatcat will give me the bungs for the O2 sensors that come with the Auto Tune add on for the Power Commander V. Is my thinking correct on this?
The Thunderheader is known for a low end dip I have read. That is why I thought of changing the pipe.

I attached a dyno file, can you see it? When it was tuned he said "your going to like this", and I do. I would just like to pump up the 2500 rpm dip.

well if the Thunder thing is known for the dip huck it and get something else.

I have the PCV with autotune on my 2004, changed the headpipes of course.

I love it. Once you get to your target AFRs just check once in a while and I think my bike runs pretty darn good. Could it benefit from a dyno tune ? Probably but who cares? it is no race bike it is a old out dated clunky noisy Harley.

Do some research and I will suggest contacting Fuelmoto as they were very helpful and most of all PATIENT with me asking questions, they loaded a base map and off I went !! Happy happy happy.

As was said earlier your Thunder Header makes good power, as good or better than the Fat Cat which lists for close to $1000. I would also agree with what others have said that a good tune might be the answer to your lag in power at low RPMs. If, however, you have your mind set on dropping some cash into your motor then I think the best bang for your buck would be to have your heads worked over and then get a good tune. Bigger valves, porting and even having your heads decked a bit to raise your compression would provide some significant gains in power. You already have a pretty solid build. Head work is really all that is missing. If you want to go the quick and easy route you could exchange your heads for a set of Fuel Moto's Level B CNC heads for $879. Throw a another $300 or $400 into a good tune and you would be good to go.

Typical Stage 2 dyno with a Thunder header torque dip where you normally see them, some tuners are more successful at tuning that dip out.
