2013 colors & other info

When I was inking the deal on my 2012 FLTRX yesterday my dealer showed me the 2013 color palette.

The dealer and I kicked around an option of me ordering a 2013 if I liked any of the 2013 colors better. Colors for the 2013 FLTRX are vivid black, big blue pearl, denim black and a candy orange (its the orange version of big blue pearl).

I think I saw the Street Glide gets a chrome yellow pearl (yellow pearl with metal flake) and a candy red; however I didn't pay too much attention to the SG as I was looking specifically at the RGC colors. Obviously vivid black and denim black were part of the SG color options as well. I don't remember if big blue pearl was a SG color this year. Sorry SG owners that I didn't pay more attention.

The 2013 colors looked pretty cool if you are into the pearl colors.

Also my dealer advised the Nightster and the XR1200 were gone for 2013. No other details on what is going away.

They said the 2013 anniversary color scheme and option package had not been released yet. Also no mention of the revolution engine (water cooled) entering into the touring line but they didn't know everything yet.:icon_deadhorse:

Just sharing...your local dealer should have the 2013 colors in house now.

Three out of four of the same colors for the RGC, two years in a row. Nice...

When they come back with a colbalt or flame blue again,I will be trading. Till then, nothing really stands out, hard to go wrong with black though.

I have a 2010 RK in flame blue pearl and it looks nice and there are not too many of them out there.

I just hope they get rid of the striping & put proper tank badges on the RGC.

That sheet has the XR1200 shown. I wonder if my dealer is just talking smack.:icon_screwy:

Had a guy tell me one time that school busses are yellow, fire engines are red, and motorcycles are black. Don't know if I agree, but it does simplify things.

Just got done with the Steel Toe Tour at York and when we went by the carts of frames after powder coat there was a rack of CVO touring frames and smack in the middle of a bunch of Merlot was a silver one. It wasn't the normal silver though. The closest I can come to describing it was that it looked just like the silver jet hot ceramic coating. The tour guide pointed it out and mentioned that it shouldn't be there since it was a 2013 color. I looked around in the tanks and fenders and didn't see anything that matched.
Take it with a grain of salt but there may be a really cool silver CVO touring option for 2013.

chopper king matt 06-11-2012 05:02 PM

just wondering if the orange is like the orange on the FATBOB as stock paint for 2013?
anyone got a pic please ?

TORQUEY 06-12-2012 07:08 PM

Why would they drop the root beer colors? Forget the combo which was beautiful. Either color on its own was incredible. Let's not even talk about the long gone charcoal grey metallic whatever that gorgeous color was. I've also wondered about a metallic black as an option for the vivid black.

Go figure.

Funny that chart shows FXDL(dyna low rider) and FXST(softail standard) both with asterisks, and at the bottom the asterisk says "Export Only" I thought both of those models were gone? Like FLHT (electra glide standard) I didnt know they still made certain models for export, but not for domestic sales....WTF?!?

I don't know where the FXDL and FXST are exported, as they're no longer available in Europe, since 2009 I believe...
There are also "domestic sales" models we would like to see here: my dream (I'm not the only one!) is the road glide custom, but unfortunately HD sells only the RG CVO on the european market...

At $ 40 000 the custom, or $ 47000 the ultra: not for me!!!:icon_sad:

A lot of people would buy the FLHT, and also the FLHR (both not exported since 2010): I don't understand why we, europeans, can't choose our bikes in the full range like you do!

May have been the "Brilliant Silver Pearl" color. It's not listed on the touring models on the 2013 color chart that Dawg posted, but the chart doesn't show the CVO models.

SDVmnt 06-13-2012 12:05 PM

Brilliant Silver Pearl in my Sig pic.. Maybe if they do they'll actually come out with some color matched parts for it in the catalog.. matching it sucks.

MSWysatta 06-15-2012 05:25 AM

They also havent came out with the Anniversary edition colors yet. Heard they are probably gonna wait until August 21st before they let it out. Dealers will probably know in their end of July meeting, so something may leak then. It's all "Super Secret Squirel Crap" now! I pre-ordered the 2013 SG from military sales here in Afghanistan in black denim cause I wasn't to keen on the other colors hoping there will be a good 110 Anniv color scheme though. If not I will get the black denim and do my own color scheme off of that.
