KonTour Seats

Has anyone ever had any dealings or know anyone who has tried Kontour Seats?

They are quite pricey but not too far off base for what you get. I have seen this type covering material before and like it much better than leather or vinyl. Plus they guarantee the seat for life.

I have talked to MCC and they weren't sure they could help with my butt pain issue (long story, injury, surgery). KonTour says they can, that's enough to make me at least get a quote.

Anyone heard of them, seems like they are quite popular with the sport touring riders.

It just looks like the "Circulator" covering that HD already has. That be the case I'll stick with the Circulator. Much cheaper... and works with the HD seats.

I'll have to check that out, never heard of "Circulater" covering.

If you're talking about the Circulator Seat Pad, no thanks. Over the many years I've been riding, I have tried almost every seat pad that's come on the market. Not only do none of them work for me, they always seem to slip, move, bunch up or are a general PITA to deal with.

I know people who use them religiously, they just aren't for me.

How about the Saddleman Road Sofa seats, anyone tried them? I hadn't even thought about Saddleman, didn't know they were still around. Do remember have one of their replacement seats on a old Honda 750 one time. It was much better than stock...

Wow, took a good look at the website- looks very impressive to me.

I sent KonTour and email with all my specs asking for a quote. I may not be impressed when I see the price! Then again, look at what Russell and Mustang get for seats.

Since you mentioned them, have you looked into a Russell day long seat?

I have looked into Russell and Ultimate. For some reason, neither seem to appeal. I think it was Russell who recommends a rain cover but I maybe wrong. Actually been to the Ultimate factory in Daytona, from what they told me, Ultimate seats always sit about an inch higher than stock. That is one thing I do not want.

Trying to get away from vinyl and leather and into something that breathes but doesn't require rain covers or a ton of maintenance.

I know, I'm different and weird. Been that way from birth!

Just got an email from Kontour, looks like with everything I want done, including rebuilding the entire seat, reshaping, recovering the rider backrest and tour pack backrest to match; will set me back about $1475.00!

OUCH! Gotta do some hard thinking on that one. Not sure my ass is even worth that much money!

More research to be done! Finding a comfortable seat should not be this difficult or cost this much.......:icon_no: :icon_no: :icon_no:

Wouldn't be so bad if I absolutely, positively, knew it would be what I want and need.
