Wouldn't it have been 1.5-3 years depending on behavior then?

Default Got to settle with the NCDMV

The reason is that I made some poor decisions during my drinking career and the fine State of NC thinks that I should drive with a blow-n-go in my vehicle for three years. I can't operate any vehicle that doesn't have this machine. And of course, they don't put them on motorcycles. This has been hanging over my head for a long time. I finally decided to take care of it.

I have seen the blow and go device on a street glide in our area. Funny when he takes it in for service at the local Harley shop, nobody wants to lip the device!!!

If it was me I would fill the crank, tranny and primary but not fill the gas tank, instead spray a half a can of fogging oil in it. I would also put a teaspoon of oil down the cylinders then turn the motor over using the rear wheel to spread it around then spray the other half a can of fogging oil down them and replace the plugs.

I wouldn’t buy a battery or start it up during the storage.

If it were me I'd sell it. 3 years is a long time to store a vehicle. Probably not what you want to do though. You may want to ask the dealer for their opinion as well.

There's your answer right there.

Simply tell them that this is your transportation and either affix one to the bike or let you off the hook. This is a case of discrimination..

It's actually a case of bad judgement, not discrimination. Not judging, just sayin.

Well, I'm not advocating doing anything illegal, but no way in hell would I accept something like this no matter what I did--NOT for 3 years anyway. maybe 6 months, but that's about it. I was in a similar situation many years ago, NOT from DUI but from refusing to pay what I thought were unjustified tickets. I still rode & drove, just limited my riding & was very careful about it. This was before computers, so it wasn't that big a risk back then. But no way was I gonna accept not riding OR driving for that long a period of time.

I'm a rebel & I'll never be any good!

Never could imagine these guys like Billy Lane losing their license for life. I'd die first!

+1 I had to use a blow n go back in '93. and lost my license for another 6 mos. I drove every day. I even bought a new (to me) incognito ride so I'd blend in and the local heat wouldn't recognize me. My truck had the blow n go and I don't think I drove it once. Sorry, I'm not a sheep and my motto will forever be F*CK the system!
