As some of you know I ran a VIED for quit awhile until I started getting pinging in the upper RPM range that flat out ruined my ride. It got to the point either I was going to stop riding or I'd better address the pinging. After reading every thread on the subject and deciding on which unit was best for me including the one I could afford, I went with the PCV from Fuel Moto. I know guys, I was a fierce advocate against using them, until the dreaded ping monster. Jamie loaded one of his maps on it for me and got it delivered for $300. Took his original map and tweaked it in the timing area where I was having the problem and so far I think I've got it quieted down. The VIED just wasn't doing anything for me in the RPM range I needed the most help and you can't alter the timing with it. It served me well but I needed a better way to tune.

You mentioned upper RPM range Tucci, what RPM's were you getting the pinging. The Xied's and Vied's only enrich the closed loop and effect the open loop about 5%. Open loop starts around 3750 RPM's.
