Best Touring Seat

One man's meat is another's poison, when it comes to seats. What works for one person might not work for another. I think the advice to 'try on' the seat you plan to purchase is very apt. Maybe you have a friend who'd loan you their seat, if it's one you might be interested in. I also heard Harley dealers are having a try-before-you-buy program on their seats. There are several, the Sundowner among them, that get high praise from a lot of people.

I just bought a Danny Gray LongHaul 2-Up XL with Airhawk built in. Have not put any real miles on it yet, but it fit great on the test ride. Firm but not like a rock (Corbin). Assume it will still need some breaking in, and some playing with the air feature to dial it in. Passenger seat looks wide and has the same air feature, the back looks comfortable, without looking like a giant pillow is strapped to the fender.
Stitching is cool looking to my eyes.
It was, however, ridiculously expensive and I would never spend that kind of money on a seat without being able to demo it first. It so happens, my local dealership had one (and had ordered a second, which had just come in, which I bought ... )
It moved me lower than the stock seat, maybe an inch (hard to tell). No further back, it's narrower under the thighs.

In my case sleek was not in the equation and I was EXTREAMLY pleased with my stock cop bike air ride seat on my 08 FLHP. Yeah it looks like it came off a John Deere Tractor, but 850 miles in 13 hours (I did stop for an hour and half in Oklahoma City) when I was touring the mainland caused me NO PAIN. I have put a few miles on bikes (and yes I’m an old fart) and it is by far the “Most Bestest” seat I have ever had.

A friend in the furniture bizness says theres an *** for every chair
I'm on Team Mustang.
I first got the mustang removable back rest for the stock Streetglide seat.
Now I got eh mustange Vintage solo with removable back rest
Corbins look good, but are stiffer than a preachers *****.
Seat are like shoes, try them on, or end up returning them.

Didn't work for me ...........
I have the solution for you
send your stock seat out to Mean City Cycles to get it worked over and it will make you happy 100% of the time no matter how long you ride
then get the removable back rest from HD that drops in when you need it, and leave it in your saddle bag or home when you don't need it
that works for me

was better than stock but not much and wished I would have just bought a Mustang
touring seat and saved the money - first thing I did after I got 4000 miles of her
b*tching. I do use the reworked stocker around town as four hours is ok but not much
more. IMHO.
