Need help wih SG please
 

So I added an 8" windshield from fastaire which helped with buffeting, but am still getting some coming up from under the sides of fairing....especially going into any wind. What would be the best thing I can add to help with the wind coming from down under?

Do a search on the buffeting but the fork deflectors seem to be the ticket for that issue. There's a guy on EBAY that selling Chrome plated ones for a decent price.

PLEASE don't take this as a nasty or agressive post or whatever but I've been reading about wind buffeting since joining this forum. I can understand wanting to reduce wind noise to hear your radio but outside that reason I dont get all the fuss.

Maybe because I never rode a bike that didnt have wind buffeting. (??)
How do you ride a bike that doesnt have wind buffeting?
Is plain old wind different than wind buffeting?
Your running whatever MPH on a MC so your going to get wind buffeting right?
Your either in a head wind or a tail wind or a side wind or in cross winds so how could you not have wind buffeting?

Are we really in search of driving a bike "X" MPH and not feeling any wind buffeting around us?

Anyone care to explain this a bit more?

You'll also notice a marked difference with your riding position. My seat sits me into the bike and farther back than stock and it helps.
The farther from my tank my knees are, makes for more wind from underneath. If I ride with my knees tucked right in beside the tank, I get very little wind from under.

Gliden, I think a lot of people confuse the "type" of wind. They keep trying to stop something and many times make it even worse. To me, buffeting is like having someone hold your head and forceably move it around with enough force that you can't control it. Persoanally, I have never had anything that bad on my Street Glide with any configuration I have played with. I have found ways though to draw enough backdraft that I can pour a bottle of water behind me on my neck and have it spray the inside of the windshield, or get enough updraft to get my hair to stand up straight, just depends on how you configure lowers, baffles, deflectors, windshield height, etc. But, you're right, there is always some change in the wind.

I know the wind buffeting you're talking about. I've tried everything short of fork deflectors and lowers myself.

Fairing deflectors, fork baffle, and fork deflectors seem to be the most common solution, with lowers being an option to fork deflectors.

I have lights mounted on my engine guard, so fork deflectors and lowers are not options I care for.

I do use "soft" lowers during Winter, but they do little for the wind buffeting.

Seems to be a problem unique to SGs.
