Default Ostrich seat cover durability ?

I want to send my stock seat out to get modified with a Gel pad or memory foam (maybe both) The company that I see recomeneded most often on this site will not recover my seat with real Ostrich leather, they said it does not hold up and takes too much work to maintain. They want to do it in vinyl, but I think it will look and feel cheap. I don't mind the little bit of extra work that it will take to care for the real Ostrich.
I had a pair of Ostrich boots, they wore like iron, so I think it would last a very long time as a seat cover.

My question are for anyone using a real Ostrich seat cover or knows someone that does.
How well do they hold up, would you do it over again and who did the work.?

Please post pictures of your seat if you can.

The Corbin site says that they use Ostritch print and do not reccomend it on seating areas as the print presses out over time.

I have been thinking about getting an ostrich seat. I love my ostrich boots and both pairs I have had held up great and never really done anything to maintain them.

That’s because the bumps on real Ostrich leather is made from cartilage (like your ear)
the fake print is just pressed/stretched from the inside. If you push on the outside long enough it will flatten out.

I don't want the Ostrich printed leather, I want the real thing.

I've got a pair of full quill and although the hide is tough I think the bumps would prove irritating. With that said, as pliable as the hide is it should cover well....but hell its your $ and as long as you dont try to get your money back who gives a chit.......Ostrich hide is sweet. Tell MCC you'll sign a waiver or have em cover it in vinyl then send it to someone else to recover with your hide of choice. Here's something to think about though, full quill comes from a certain portion of the animal that might not allow for a single piece to go completely across the seat and prob would need to be pieced together. My caiman alligators are like that.....something to keep in mind. Do it man its only $ and you cant take it with you. Lets see a pic when your done......

I had an ostrich on my '05 RK and the wife has one on her '07 RKCuston. No problems, it wears like iron, looks good and less wear than the leather around it.
