Default Lowering an Unltra Limited

I'm looking for feedback from anyone who has lowered a lat model EG.
How far did you lower it?
Have you notice any cornering issues?
Much did it cost you?

I have a '11 Ultra Liited with OE shocks and seat. I'm flat footed at stops, but am thinking another inch lower might feel a little more stable.

progressive 940 shocks will lower it an additional inch making backing up easier. no corner issues on my 2011 RGU. I have not had it on a track yet but live where there are lots of twisties. If I want to touch down the floor boards messing around on a slow course I can scrape the floor board brackets but I can also ride at higher speeds in the twisties with no problems.

Street Glide seat and shocks from a new bike work well, unless your are 2-up a lot.

Unless you are going to upgrade the shocks with a better set than the HD air shocks , leave it at stock height and get a seat that will lower you an inch. Loosing 1" of travel with the SG Shocks is a bad idea and will not improve handling or ride.

A good set of after market shocks in a 12" will lower you and you wont loose travel or at least will get improved suspension. Look at Ohlins, Works, Terrycable, Progressive or even the HD Premium Hand Adjustable seem to be better than stock

Call MeanCity Cycle and see if they can lower and narrow your stock seet . Much more thrifty than a new low seat .

I had them lower and narrow my stock 2008 FLHRC seat and add memory foam for comfort .

Total cost INCLUDING Shipping both ways just under $150 . price verys depending on what you have them do.

seriously consider our hydraulic suspension - drop you 2.5 when you come to a stop but keep you up and at full ride height above 13 MPH. It truly works wonders and now that they are selling the responses have been fantastic!

check it out : www.hdsuspension.com watch the movie it will tell the story for you. I have another gentleman on his way here tonight to check it out. Bad hips, hard to hold the bike up, not quite tall enough, feel over loaded with a passenger, hard to handle at low speeds - whatever it solves all of these problems and so many more.

Drop me an email if you want more particulars, Thanks David

2011 Ultra Classic: Modified seat (Mean City Cycles); Street Glide shocks (1" shorter); Progressive Monotubes (1" lower) up front. The monotubes is one of the best mods I've done. No more 'mushy' nose dive.

HD Profile Lowers in the rear and a Reach (not super) seat. Bike handles great. I teach the MSF courses and lean/corner pretty well when doing the exercises.
