Something ain't right
I went for a ride today - 100+ degrees. I got stuck at a stop light and my scooter really sounded bad. New bike, less than 1000 miles. Then I realized that the back cylinder had shut down at idle because of the heat. First time this has happened to me. Life is good!

the owner's manual explains it all.
and the important stuff like tire pressure too. ( we had a guy post on here once he was gonna "sue H-D 'cause his bike wobbled all over the place."...tire pressure: 25 pounds) enjoy the new ride, enjoy it more by knowing the whys and wherefores of what it is doing. Mike |

HaHa - Yeah, 1st time it happened to me I thought something was wrong too. Although there are plenty of critics on this forum I am a fan of the EITMS. Here in Florida it comes on all the time.

Here goes the argument. I installed Xieds on my '09 Ultra soon after I got it. That summer we had over 60 days of 100 + temps. And have only had the cylinder cut out a couple of times since then.. it really does work. It seems to richen the mixture just enough to keep the cylinder below the critical temp.

i didnt like it.....shut mine off on the first day.....hasnt been on since....

I use mine manually ALL the time ( roll the grip forward and hold while stopped at a light).
This pumps air through the cylinder and the air removes heat. a cooler motor will last longer and the rider will be more comfortable To turn it off makes no sense it gets warmish here in PHX Mike |

Anyone else have any insight on this? |
