Because im using stock HD radio I wired inputs from both speaker connections from stock set up
. Also just cut remote wire and it fixed the issue.

Ok great. Continue to use the high level inputs with that amp. It'll perform better than converting over to RCA's. Don't forget to move the ground!! All the places they tell you to ground to in the fairing are dirty grounds which have to travel through the neck bearings. Battery or grounding post on frame in front of battery are the only places to use for ground.

i have a question for you. I am hardwiring an amp and radio in my 2014 electra glide police seeings it doesnt have the factory harness for a radio. So, when i run my power and ground to my amp from the battery, can i now piggy back my radio power and ground from the amp. Same goes for the remote wire to the amp, can i piggy back from the amp to the radio?

You can piggy back the power and ground for the radio but the remote should go from the radio (light blue wire) to the amp.

So the radio harness has a remote in wire and a remote out wire?

The HU only has a remote out. That wire goes to the amp to turn it on.
Instead of piggy backing your power for the HU off the amp, you need to run that power wire to a switched power source. Otherwise you will have to manually turn off the HU every time you park the bike. The ground and the yellow wire from the HU can piggy back off the power and ground of the amp.

that's what i meant. So the switched power runs to the head unit and then the remote from the head unit runs to the amp. but then the power wires run from the battery to the amp and then you hook your constant power and your ground from the head unit to the amp

Default Bates

I read through the threads and all makes sense because I was having the same issue. But im also have a difficult time tuning my amp and has only has good sound when I play music through my phone (pandora) with my hogtunes Bluetooth setup. I also have a powered antenna that I attached under my faring pigtail with a wip on my touring pack that has horrible static through all stations. Good reception before installing amp.
2006 E-glide amp is Rockford Fosgate TM400X4ad
