My SQUEEKY Lyndal Brakes
I like that these pads are a lot cleaner that stock Harley pads....and they stop good too. But this is the second pair I've tried and they have a high pitch squeek to them at slow speeds. I previously had them on a Softail and now on my Ultra......with the same noise. Is this cureable somehow??

Generally speaking , any high pitch squeal from the pads will be caused by the pads vibrating against dry mounting parts and pistons.
Here's a pretty good article by Lyndall.

Once you have cleaned and prepped the brakes , you need to apply (sparingly) something like grease ( I use GM dielectric high temp silicone) between any 2 points making contact , under motion while braking.
This would be the end of each pad at the caliper , each piston where it contacts the pad , etc.
The pads are "going to" vibrate and where they contact any surface which doesn't vibrate , there needs to be a "wet" barrier to stop the squeal.
I have been doing brakes as a professional for over 30 years and have yet to have brakes squeal when properly installed.
The common misconception , is that it's normal for ceramic/metallic/kevlar brakes to make noise.
Properly installed brakes will "never" make any noise when done right.
My lyndall Z+ pads don't make a peep because I did them myself.

Not sure but your 05 may have a similar 4 piston caliper like my 04. Be sure all 4 pistons are free. Know its a lot of trouble now but before replacing caliper alway be sure pistons come out same distance. You read on here about the Lyndall. They must be a little harder then Harley's pads.

Brake pad lubricant on the back of the pad. I have been running Lyndalls with various calipers and rotors for years without the dreaded squeal but have read about it numerous times. One of my bikes has Pm calipers and the other l' has Brembo calipers which are stock Harley caliper. I am not sure if that has anything to do with my lack of squealing. I have run the gold pads and the z plus pads.
Regardless, that would drive me crazy.
