Default What's the better deal

Going to trade in my 2010 fatbob i belive
I found a 2010 roadglide for $18000 with only 9800 miles from a second hand dealer the bike has a d&d fatcat Stretched rear fender agitator wheels blacked out forks, apes and a windvest so about $4000 in extras there claiming
But for 4 grand more I can get a brand new 2013 rg with a warranty from my local dealer both bikes are black denim...
I can't think of any other major differences between the 2010 & 2013 besides the 103 just looking for others opinions

2013 has the 103, ABS?

Will you be able to do the apes if you get the new bike?

The 2013 gets you a 2 year warranty. And that 103 is a big difference. plus oil cooler.

Go New.

One thing you will see following forums like this is that riders who F up a bike with "awesome mods" aften dump them on the market once the awesomeness doesn't appear and the bike is screwy.

unless each of the "4 Grand" in extras is just what you would want, get a brand new bike and enjoy a warranty

I can almost guarantee you that when the dealer bought the bike as a trade in or whatever, he gave next to nothing for those upgrades.

Buy the new one.

It all comes down to what you want to spend. I went through the same thing when I was buying my street glide. So your figuring 8k out of you pocket for a used on and 12k out of pocket for a new one. Me I went new.

Well 4k$ in extras means nothing, it is almost a crutch when selling so factor that in, unless you were going to do the exact same mods, I would look at it like I want to pay less, someone detracted from stock a lot on this bike, you never get your add ons back out of the bike, a simple fact we all have to accept.

The stock bike new is a good bike because it is new you get a warranty and all but if you like to mod then you have to start over.

22k$ for a motorcycle is a lot of money man, 18k$ for a used bike is a real lot of money.
Why do you want to sell your 2010 already?

On the other hand I had a couple come in, in there 50's never owned a Harley the guy wanted one his whole life, just couldnt afford one.

They didnt have great credit so it wasnt going to be new no matter what.
They started look at sporty's and street bobs but you could tell it wasnt enough bike for them.
I sold them a used Road King that somene had gone to town on, for them it was a nice fit.
He got on a HArley finally, and this one had beautiful spoked wheels, all chromed up, a 103 or 110 upgrade, Rhinehardts, etc.. a whole lot of bike and it was arond 10k,I forget the year.
They were very happy with it, she almost dried and couldnt believe the bike thy were able to get, thought I was their hero, lol and for them it was the right way to go,

Same with a Heritgage softtail I sold a Rodney Dangerfield look alike, so in some cases the add ons can help a sale but mostly go try to sell your bike and try to get out of it your add ons, it is almost impossible, I would negotiate hard on the used on for 18 and try to get that down, in this economy cash talks you might be able to do alot better than 18$

I paid 16k$ for my RKCustom off the showroom floor with 11 miles on it so to me 18 for a used bike seems really high unless it is a SE or CVO
