Default 5th wheel toy hauler and touring bikes

My wife and I are looking to down size our RV and go for a 5th wheel toy hauler.(before I get the...why don't you just ride your bikes instead of towing statements.... We have a lab and a boxer that travel with us, they stay in the rig during the day while we go out an ride) My concern with the ones we have looked at is the size of the garage. All that we have seen is rigs with 8'x10 garages. We currently have a street glide and road king. Anybody have experience with toy haulers and Harley's? Will these 2 bikes fit in an 8'x10 area? any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

sure.

why don't you mark out an 8 x 10 area on your driveway or garage floor and pile up all the crap, and see how it fits....all of it, storage bins, riding gear etc.

especially if you set up the chocks/ straps so that the bikes are slightly staggered.

I recently bought a Keystone Raptor 300mp which is a 35.5' 5th wheel. Garage is 10 depth and inside around 8". I will be hauling 1 FLHTK mounted on the right side of the garage. There is room to add another one on the left side of the same size. I may get a softtail cruiser next year to take also. Many TH have 12 and 14' garages but they are 40+' long, too big for me. Mine has a separate garage from the living area. Smaller ones have an open plan.

They won't go side by side but stagger is ok?

The reason I ask is I thinking about a 7 x 12 low hauler for 2 staggered. Again never thought about laying out on the garage floor.

I found the 8' width was enough for two. If you use wheel chocks the bikes sit upright and take less width.
The problem for me is overhead height. The ramp is steep and you feel a need to duck hard pulling in. Unloading you're backing down a steep incline as well.
A ramp extension would help take some of the load and unload thrills away, but I haven't figured out how to integrate it in for a built in look.

Yes they will fit side by side. Have a 38' toy hauler and I got my SG and my buddies 1700 Suzuki right next to it. Have two wheelchocks in front. Mine is 12' garage but theres a ton of space rear of the bikes. I did have to put new tie downs in the floor though. The factory tie down spacing is made for one bike or dune buggy or something. Get one and enjoy. I went from motorhome to this as well and I love my setup.

I have a 36 ft Keystone Raptor with an 8X12 garage. yours will fit a 8X10 side by side if you want to load that way.The only reason our bikes are staggered, her's is a 2012 Triglide. We love it!!!
