Road King exhaust question

I have a new 2012 Road King Classic. Im running stock exhaust. This is the first bike in many years to have stock pipes. If I just change the mufflers say to V and H slip ons. Does this require a new air intake, and fuel management tuners and adjustments. I did all this when I changed complete systems but I am not sure if I need it if I am just doing slip-ons. The bike is dangerously quiet and I am just looking to beef up the sound. Thanks

You should be fine - no tuner needed.

trying removing the catalytic converter first and leaving the mufflers stock. bike will run cooler and it gives a little more rumble to the sound. do a search on the forum on the topic.

If you just change the mufflers, there is no need for any fuel management changes.
That said, a free flow breather, and a good tune will be the best bang for the buck in the performance and cooling department.

I think it depends how your bike runs now. My '11 had lots of issues when stock. It runs tremendously better with a tuner.

I have same issue. 2012 Road King FLHR that was sewing machine quiet. Installed a pair RCX-Haust slip ons from rccomponents.com. Bike runs fine with stock ECM. They sound better than stock, but still thinking about removing cat. converter, adding hi flow air cleaner, tuner and dyno. Probably my winter project.

Just slip ons, you will be fine.
Like above, I went with the RCXhaust slip ons first - helped the sound some.
Later went with the V/H Power duals and the rest, it went from bike to beast.
Lots of sound held back by the cat, they say...
