Just put a set of the JES lowers on my Ultra and really seems to help the updraft coming between tank and fairing. Got the chrome ones which were a bit pricey but have to say they are well made and chrome looked good. Have not had them on long enough to know about engine heat effect.
There is a good post on here somewhere with a black bike with black lowers from JES that looks pretty good. Guess I'm just a chrome fan.

Bought and installed the Harley wind deflecters today. Easy install.
Only strange thing is that the deflecter on the right hits the engine guard but the deflecter on the left doesn't. I'm pretty sure that I have them both positioned the same on both sides.
I just took my first long trip since I put mine on, 1600 miles. I have the HD brand on my RKC and I am sold on them. I was amazed at how much buffeting they cut out. The last 150 miles of the trip was in rain. I was wearing a helmet(first time ever), leather jacket, gloves and jeans. My legs hardly got wet at all. I'll keep them!
JES defelctors as well...as previously stated it now feels like a bubble around me. The biggest advantage is better sight without buffeting of the sunglasses. Second to that, don't have to turn up the radio. It's a whole new experience, awesome. Went 80+ into the wind and man what a smooth ride and radio remained below half volume. That's quite an improvement. As "new things" go, this is the best comfort purchase I've made. They're not coming off...ever.
Unkown about the heat issue, I do have one extra piece of chrome that attaches to the inside of the forks that forces wind caught between the forks down into the motor. Unk what it's called. Little half moon, curved down towards the heads. A whopping $25 from the HD shop so figured what the heck. Don't know how well it works but I can feel a good push from the air coming through the lowers when they're open.

I commented about heat earlier in this thread. I think I was running pretty lean and hot which got worse when I installed the wind deflectors. Installed the PCV last week and it made a HUGE difference. 320 mile ride today and I don't think I ever really felt any heat. Very pleased now.
