Just installed a new starter. Took the battery cables loose like the service manual says do. Installed the starter & hooked connections (2) up to starter. Installed battery cables back like service manual says do. Starter works great but, fried the low beam & triple tree lamps. Everything else works fine, all lights, all electrical. Replaced the bulbs and still won't work. Checked fuses, all good. 1. What did I do wrong? 2. How do I fix it?

 

Did you check fuses by sight or with a tester? I've been fooled before by looking at a fuse and wasn't able to see the break. A tester confirmed.

 

But the high beam still works. There is only one fuse for the head lamp on my bike as far as I know.

 

Problem was the lighting relay in the fuse block. Replaced it...all worked well.
