Default SE Variable Pressure Clutch?

I am having a bit of clutch slippage at higher RPM's on my SG. It is set up for low to midrange torque. Depending upon what map I have loaded I am running @ 92HP & 113 torque.

The slippage occurs if I am at WOT and hitting the shift point @4200, which is max power. She will spin up another 750-1000 RPM and then grab. It is the only time it slips.

A dealer tech (who I respect and trust) suggested Screaming Eagles variable pressure clutch setup. He said it is perfect for my situation.

Anyone tried or is using this setup?

Otherwise I will probably go with Barnett plates/discs.

So when you did the engine work, what did you do to the clutch?

I don't know about spending the money on the SE setup, sounds like you might have some other problem. Stock clutch should handle that HP and torque just fine. I'm running a stock clutch with the heavy spring added as a "just in case" and pushing 103/122. I haven't had a single slip yet and yes, I do ride it all over the max-power band. Personally, I would pull it apart and inspect everything before I bought the expensive "cure all". Then again, if you just want to toss money at it to make sure, did you look at the AIM lock up?

Frog, that's what I was getting at, mine made 108hp and 111tq with the tq coming in at 105@ 2500rpm. Stock clutches and an SE pressure plate, no issues.

I run the AIM 92P with a SE heavy spring and from the looks the harley variable pressure clutch is about the same. Mine works great, but I have the Barnett extra kevlar disks cluth as well so I don't know for if you'll get the same result?

the se variable looks almost exactly like the aim v92. which is what i am running. i had the heavy spring in first, but i really didn't care for the extra effort to pull the clutch, or to keep it in the friction zone. so i sprung for the v92. well worth it. put the stock spring back in, and it feels easier at low rpms, and at high rpms when it requires more force, you're just pulling and releasing so it isn't a big deal.

whatever you do, you should do it soon. the more you allow your clutch to slip, the worse (ie more expensive) it is going to get.

Any of the vpc's do nothing for slip below 3500 rpm.

Thanks for the feedback. I have no slippage at low RPMs. Only at that higher range at WOT. Going to check out AIM. This is going to be a winter project anyway.

Thanks'
