Default Installing HD heated grips???

Well got me a set of HD heated grips. You guys have any tips or tricks for installing them?

Hook the power to the ignition so they turn off, I`ve seen my batteries dead from forgetting to shut off when hooking direct to battery.

Cover tank and front fender with heavy towels so when you drop something you don't scratch or dent anything. Read instructions thoroughly. Stop by liquor store on the way home from work and get at least a 12 pack. Tell wife to stay away unless you call for help. Good luck

12 pack and tell the wife to stay away,,,sounds like it's a pain in the ***...lol..
Bike is a 06 Electra Glide Classic.

Hahahahaha Yeah +1 to the wife staying away. Otherwise it will be `Honey should i put these tools away for you `` etc drives me nuts. She is trying to help but.... And if she`s helping. Get 24 pack. LOL

To get the wire through the bars, take a string and blow it through with a bike dryer or leaf blower. Use it as the pull string to get the wire through the bars.

Be careful when putting the grips on. Don't force the left side grip on too hard. You can damage the electrical connections (don't ask me how I know this) and then you are hosed, you have ruined the grip. You might have to cut the bar off a little to get it right.

Can i hook this up to the acc. under the seat, so it goes off when i shut the bike off?
