Oil Temp.. What is yours?

Oil Temp.. What is yours?
I just purchased an LCD Temp Oil Dipstick for my 96 EVO Roadking Classic, and it seems like my temps are lower than they should be.. But I'd like some input from others on what they get. Especially if you have the dipstick... I'm trying to figure out if its accurate or defective or what.
Yesterday I took a 10 mile ride to test it out, I took it out on the interstate for maybe 7 of those, then back home.. when I got home I checked the temp and it was around 193 degrees.. which seems low from what others have told me.. The temp outside was mid 90's, so it wasn't COOL.
This morning I rode to work, which is only about 2 miles, and the temp only showed 110 degrees. It seems to me like it would warm up MUCH quicker than that.. but maybe I'm wrong.. it was cooler this morning, maybe 70 degrees.. or maybe its not showing the right temp?
Do these temps seem plausible to people or is this thing defective? I'm not sure how quickly oil heats up.. do I need to ride for an hour before I see the 200+ degree temps most people get?

RE: Oil Temp.. What is yours?
Hi,
I'm on my second LCD dip stick. Got mine because my bike runs HOT, although the dealer says all is fine. Folks here said the stick's are know to be off quite a bit. So I boiled mine along with a analog and digital meat thermometer. The LCD was ***** on accurate and my bike never runs much cooler than 247. If it's hot out, around 90ish and I run her for 30 minutes or so at around 70 - 80, she'll climb up to 260.
My original LCD had some moister problems and I couldn't read the temp too easilly, brought it back to one of the good dealers I do business with and they exchanged it. Told me they've had a couple others returned for the same reason. Anyway, boiling this one showed the temp to be around 4 to 5 degrees too low. On my recent trip to NC the temp was up near 270 at times.
When I had my stage 1 put on the bike was dyno'd and the dealer said all is running perfectly, she just might like to run a bit warm.

Boiling point depends on the barometric pressure and if you live at higher altitudes the boiling point is going to be lower. Rough approximation is that if you lived in Denver at about 5000 feet altitude water would boil at 202-203 degrees F. It is a rough approximation but figure about 212 minus 2 degrees for each 1000 feet altitude.
