Default MGS Exhaust install

For those of you who have installed these pipes can you tell me if the exhaust gasket I need is just the stock OEM gasket for my 2010 Street Glide? If I have the Soos Kit or Harley Goodies foot board extenders do I use the extenders that came with the pipes in the install instead?

Thanks

Just a stock gasket. Chris threw 2 new ones in the box with my exhaust.

As for the extenders, they're there to get your feet away from the heat shields. If you already have extenders, no need to use the supplied ones.

Call Chris. He can answer your questions.

Thank you for the information. I haven't had a chance to open the box yet. My kids had it wrapped for Christmas before I got a chance to look at it.

WOW...your kids are AWESOME! Mine only "want" money vs. buy me a sweet exhaust for my scoot.

The stock gaskets will work, I would replace them though as it is a good idea to help prevent an exhaust leak as your current gaskets are probably pretty hard and may not create a good seal. We use a tapered soft mesh gasket that has worked very well over the years and is pretty affordable.

If you already have foot board extenders they will most likely work, but can't say for sure. I would install the pipes and see if there are any issues with clearance. If you don't have any issues, leave them, if you have some clearance issues, install the spacers included with our kit instead. Most likely your current ones will work.
Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions, I'm always available.
Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Just installed these pipes and the stock tapered gaskets are recommended and work perfect. Don't use the old ones, you don't want to have a leak and have to do it all over again.

Thanks, sounds like good advice. I will pick up a set of the stock gaskets.

I initially installed the supplied spacers which worked fine (2013 SG). I changed the spacers to the ones from harleygoodies to give more clearance between the foot board and the heat shield (as well as between your boot and the heat shield).

The point being, the supplied spacer works fine, the spacer from harleygoodies gives more clearance.

The MGS exhaust is great; great sound, great look, great quality!
