Question for you guys who have bought and installed the JRI and Ohlin shocks, how much time and work did it take to install these? And getting them set up to your liking. Thinking of taking the plunge and ordering some 13in. JRI's for my street glide.Don't know anything about shocks and your input will be appreciated.

Subscribed. I just got my JRI B's delivered and I'm waiting to call Howard to walk me through the install when the temps get up over 10* outside. I'm interested in the same information.

it takes no time to install them , you set the sag which is easy but takes 2 people , Howard gives you good starting points for your set up so fine tuning them is pretty easy too

It takes about an hour with Howard on the phone. Before you call have your old shocks off. Open the box, don't touch the new shocks, and then call Howard. You can learn a lot about shocks in this one hour.

It's not like your setting your suspension up for a NASCAR race :) It's quite simple, 4-bolts, a couple measurements, and couple twists up or down, BOOM....go riding :)

Living in the UK I didn't phone Howard and everything went just fine. Installation is very simple, with just a few tools and a jack to lift the bike at the rear. Setting sag was a hoot, with Mrs B and I in hysterics as we attempted to measure the shocks, while both sitting on the bike. Howard will give you the lowdown and be there if you need him.

what he said. Installing is quite easy. Howard deleivers them already set based on the data you sent him. He told me to ride for 500 miles without any adjusting then call him. I installed the JRI's a month or so ago but havent been able to ride yet. I would recommend a torque wrench if you have one. I used one this time, but I did not when I installed my Ohlins on my last ride. Good luck.

The sag is not set on delivered shocks. That's up to the rider to dial them in taking into consideration rider/passenger weight. Howard will give you a starting point but you have to call him. Even then, it's trail & error until you obtain your desired ride comfort and the shocks do not bottom or top out.

The fine tuning is what takes time. Setting the sag takes about 10 minutes. The ride is far superior and well worth it in my opinion as I dropped a pile of cash on some. Actual install of the shocks took about 20 minutes. It is nice to have real suspension on a Harley.

Setting the SAG is just adjusting the preload or something else?
