Ultra- Weird electrical issue? Cranks; won't start....

Maybe someone can point me in the right direction before I brake down and send it to the dealer. I recently installed bars, painted inner, and a new sound system including an amp. I also switched out the front passing lamp bracet from the stock towel bar/pankcake light style to the street glide/ ultra CVO style, same for the rear turn signal bar. After all was installed, all the harnesses reconnected and the inner buttoned up, I tested the sound system, which works fine, and all passing lamps/turn signals are operating normally, as are all hand control funtions. Now I go to start the bike and it cranks, but won't start. Additionally, when the starter cranks the radio resets, the lights on the power commander flicker, and I get sort of a popping feedback from the speakers. I checked the fuel system and I'm sure that's all working. And the fuses are intact. What the hell in going on??? I have a nasty little gremlin somewhere guys...

Check the little clutch switch that the clutch handle engages on the handlebars. (it looks the same as the brake switch)

Could that cause the weird electrical issues also?

Naaa but It might get it running.
You will have to retrace your wiring steps one by one. Did you solder and heat tube all the wires? Make sure all the wires are in the back of the molex connectors as well. Did you mark the molex connectors befroe you took the wires out?

Didn't remove any wires from their respective connectors. I did not solder connections either. I did butt splice with heat shrink butt splice connectors where needed. Then heat shrink tubing over that. And then wire loom to keep things bundled.

:icon_munching: Not a clue but when you take it to the dealer you are going to here the chi-ching 50' away. They are going to love that one. Just kidding but signed on to hear answer.

I think your going to have to check every connection, sometimes those butt slices don't hold well. If it was my bike I would go back and solder and heat shrink.

They say the biggest problems with harleys is the nut behind the handlebars.

Hope you find it...

Not to say it isn't a possibility, but I highly doubt it. I triple checked all the butt splices prior to heat shrinking them, and after. Specifically to avoid such an issue.

Just for shits and giggles...disconect your power commander and see what happens (bypass it to stock)

Sounds as if the power is being interrupted under cranking. A bad connection somewhere. How old is the battery and are the cables tight and a good positive ground??
