Miles
I have a question for everyone I am going to trade my sportster in for a bagger looking at a street glide or up my question is how many miles is too much for a used bike im looking at one that is a 2009 Ultra Classic Electra Glide with 25,550 is that too many miles to buy used

I dont think that is high milege at all, should have the kinks worked by now. I keep all my maintenace recorded in the back of my manuel so I know what was done when and if I sold the buyer would know that it was taking care of.
Looking at a dealership or private owner? |
the 09 should be a great bike for you. it's the new style frame, and i know i sure liked my previous streetglide. mine was an 08 and had the old style frame, but i never had any issues with it at all. i changed out the rear shocks on my 08 sg with stock ones from an 09 roadglide and it gave me an added inch of rear suspension=quite a bonus if you ride on rough roads. you should be fine with the miles as long as it wasn't abused and the maintenance was taken care of regularly.

It's done around 6k miles a year, which is fine. If you carry on riding it at that rate you have at least 15-20 years to look forward to. How long are you planning on keeping it?! :icon_naughty:

I have a '09 Ultraclassic with 56,000 miles on it and she still runs very strong, suggestion if it doesn't already have a stage one on it put one on makes a lot of difference.

That's nothing for mileage on that 2009.

I have 53K on my 09, not even broken in yet! Buy it!
|
47K on mine and still running strong. Like someone said, ask to look at the maintenance records. That will tell you a lot about how it was taken care of and if the bike had any problems. I have all my service receipts from warranty work done at dealer and all my receipts from work I did myself.
One thing to maybe check is the brake pads at that mileage, I did mine at 25K and they needed it. |
94,000 on my '06.Runs great!

I don't think it's a lot of miles but I wouldn't consider it a low mileage bike either considering whats out there. My 09 Road King had 62k miles when I traded it in, I traded it in becuase of the miles even though it was running just fine. If you're going to ride 15-20k or more miles per year then you'll have a lot of miles real soon.
