New denim street glide and question

Finally now putting up my new bagger. Moved up from a dyna. Purchased it in November but then had shoulder surgery so I couldn't ride it.

My question for the denim paint owners (yes I read every single thread on denim paint) is... Nobody talks about polishing their chrome. Do you guys just windex the chrome or do you wax/polish your chrome. Also if you do polish how concerned are you with getting the polish on the paint?

Thanks in advance and thanks to all who post. The info here is invaluable....

Now all I need to decide is do I go black or stay with contrasting chrome and the mods will begin....

You don't have to wax chrome. You basically clean it. But for good measure, just use something like Eagle One Quick Shine. Fast, clean & shiney.

Congrats. Yeah just clean it with micro fiber

I have black denim road glide and clean my paint with soap and water and between washes I use the hd denim paint cleane ONLY because there was no ammonia free windex anywhere in my area. As far a chrome, I use turtle wax chrome polish and polish it when I feel like it usually about once a month. Dont worry about getting it on the denim paint because it just wipes off. The denim is paint is actually the same base as vivid black and also same clearcoat but just with and additive to make the clear a denim color. Only this is that when it wears, unlike regular clear coat it just wears down over time, the denim wears down over time and shows more of the
Black base thru it giving it that faded jean look

I just use windex on all, sometimes I use a spray for chrome. By far the easiest bike to clean I have had so far. Congrats, welcome to touring and enjoy your new bike.

Chrome...easy. You just get rid of it.

I use soap and water, but in between washes I use the Harley Gloss cleaner on the Denim paint and the chrome, it leaves a nice sheen on the paint, been using it for a couple of years now and it will not harm the Denim paint.

you don't need ammonia free windex. in fact, the manual recommends windex with ammonia on the denim. it does not recommend ammonia windex on the windshield....
