Default How many miles on your stock lifters w 103" and 255 cams??

I have 55k miles on my 07 and the local dealer suggest preventive maintenance of replacing the lifters at 20 to 30k miles on the larger motors. I don't really hear any extra lifter noise but thought I would might replace them to have piece of mind since I'm way over their recommendation. Just wondering how many miles others have had on their stock lifters with this type build. I also was looking at the Hy-Lift Johnson V-2313-SE as the replacement lifters, anyone using them even though the 255's aren't a high lift cam?

Thanks

My 103 w/ the 255 cams has about 23k miles on it now & I dont see a reason the replace the lifters. If I was installing a new cam then I would add new lifters but otherwise... no.

I had over 30k on mine. I ended up changing cams and lifters as I wanted a cam with more torque and wider torque band than the 255's. The lifters looked brand new with no visible wearing. If you change your/filter regularly they should last a long time.

One other comment, I would check the maintenance manual on what is required when. I don't recall lifter change is listed. If that is the case, I would ask the dealer that said that they needed to be changed out as why he stated that. Is this something from HD, is there a service bulletin on it, if it is preventative why is it not listed in the service manual.

Default mine wore out

put 255 cams in my bike re used stock lifters about 20,000 miles later in on vacation in florida for biketober fest bike keeps stalling at idle. did plugs wires no help. bike bike away for winter bring out in spring still has the odd stall at idle cant find anything electrical wrong. I pull cams and lifters out and find pits on my front 2 lifters . changed lifters and did cams had a few very small scratches on cam. after ligter and cam change bike runs fine no more stalling.

Did Andrews 26H cams at around 50k miles and now at 76000... original stock lifters still no issues...

The indy I regularly use took out my lifters for an un-related matter and the hard chroming was gone on the wheels and they had under 18,000 miles I would guess. That was the third set he has seen like that on 2011 bikes. I chose to go with HQ Black Op. They were still quiet and didn't make any out of the ordinary noise either and I had stock pushrods / 204 cams.

Most of the problems with lifters has been on later model bikes since MOCO went to the C version lifter made in Mexico, I'm pretty sure you still have the B version in your 07. I've used Comp Cams V-thunder lifters in a previous build & they looked like new @ 68K & are still running great @ 90K.

Had 10,500 miles on factory lifters and SE255 cams from day of purchase. Went with Feuling lifter when changed cams in November 2012. Also, I went with the Redshift dual piston cam chain tensioners just an extra measure while the process was happening.
