Couldn't take it no more
Had to get her out and stretch her legs today. It was completely cloudy and a high of about 40 today. Crappy day for riding. So I put on my wool socks, riding boots, long underwear, jeans, t shirt, hoodie, leather jacket, gloves and hat and hit the road for a short ride. I went to the dealer I bought my ride from which gives me about a 40 (ish) minute ride. I get there and saw the dealer that sold me the bike. She saw me all heavy clothed up and asked "You really ridin today?" I told her I couldn't take it anymore and HAD to get out to ride. I looked around for a few and as I was walking out I said to her, "I think on the way home I'll add the balaclava mask, and heavy chaps. She laughed and said "At least you're out on it." I rode the long way back home cause I just did not want to get off. After putting on the mask and chaps I was really good to go. Came home with an ear to ear grin. It's amazing to me how just a short ride can change a mood so easily.
Don't know if it was a good thing or not that I got out cause now I'm REALLY ready for the warmer weather damn it!! I guess I was at least able to scratch a small itch for now though. DAMN it felt good!! HERE'S TO THE UPCOMING SEASON BROTHERS AND SISTERS!! STAY SAFE!! :icon_toast: |

Got up to 40 here yesterday. Jacket and gloves weather!
|
Got 90 miles in Sat with the Polar Bear Ride. But, still a lot of salt on the road, so took Piglet (Sporty) instead of Porker.
|
I've already got 1000+ miles this season, most of them under 40 degrees, all under 45 degrees. That includes a round trip across the Sierra Mountains between Reno and Sacramento. Highway 50 to Sac, and I-80 back after dark in the low 30s.
The smile on my face was frozen there for days. It was worth it. |
Nice, sometimes its good to get out and ride in the cold. I never put my bike away during the winter honestly. I ride at least once a week. But then again I am happy to climb into a tree stand at 5am when its in the teens and sit for hours.
