Default Short pipes vs Long ?

Ive always had short exhausts, since i got the road king iam deciding bettween big radius 2-2 or big shot duals.(Vance and Hines) I understand they are both loud, but does having them come out behnind the bike rather than on the side make that much of a difference? Just wanted to get feedback from people who have had em. I really like the look of the big radius . Thanks for reading

well sure it makes a difference to the guy sitting on the bike. The sound will be behind you as opposed to under and beside you... Is this a trick question?

As a rule, shorter pipes tune for higher rpm. But it seems most harley folks care more about looks and noise than power so get what ya want...

Yes it certainly does. The sound will dump behind you instead of below your right ear and that's going to make all the diff in the db sound and how long your going to be able to stand it. If you want em loud, dumping behind you is the way to go.

I've got the big radius 2-2 on my 2007 RKC. Great looking pipe. The sound is loud but not any louder than the Fat Cat on the other bike. I ride with ear plugs so it's not a problem unless it vibrates out. I'm not sure that pipe makes the best torque but The bike runs good with it on.
The only problem is the rear foot peg on the RT side has to be raised. This makes the better halfs RT leg stick up higher than the left. The floorboards are different heights on the rear. It causes her some issues. I was going to change the exhaust but she bought her own bike so problem solved. The pipe really sets the bike off.
