Default Oil Leak From Stator Wire Plug. Fixes?

Other than spending $600 part and labor to replace a perfectly good stator, has anybody been successful in sealing up that totally idiotic grommet that holds the stator wire in the case? I've found one solution from poster 2black1s using Permatex Ultra Black RTV that I think I am going to try. Just checking to see if somebody can add to that or has another solution that works.

pull the rubber away and clean , clean, clean with brake cleaner
get the air hose and dry/blow away any crud under the rubber cap
now, use the permatex rtv. You are going to have to use a blade screw driver or some other tool, as a spatula, to try and force the rtv into the hole along side the cable.

let it sit for 24-48 hours

this stopped my leak for about 15000 miles. when it leaked again, I replaced the stator.

My current ride started leaking at 12 months so it was replaced on their dime

My wife's Yammer has a leak at the stator grommet and the only way to stop it is to replace the MF stator. Tried sealing it with silicon but it started leaking again. She agreed to let the damn thing drip as long as I keep an eye on the oil level. Whether it was a jap or a Harley, as long as it's not pissing a lot of oil, just let it drip and just keep an eye on the level is what I'd do.

My 09 SG leaked at about 15000 miles. Dealer replaced it free still under warranty. Mechanic said they replaced it with a new 3 Oring they use now to fixe the leak.

Clean real good with brake cleaner... I went to a farm store and bought a cattle syringe loaded it up behing the lip on the grommet and let dry good. you may want to apply twice. It worked for me.

Mine started to leak around 15,000 miles. Tried silicon first, didn't work. Replaced stator, problem solved.

more common than I thought. I have an 09 and mine started leaking at about 20k. I got about the same quote of $600 since it's a pretty involved job to fix.

Mechanic said that he could put some kind of sealant in there to stop the leak if I wanted a real cheap fix with guarantees. didn't say what his secret sauce was though.

My extended service plan took care of it.
