7.5 fuse for H.D. battery tender source
after going to several parts stores i was unable to find the 7.5 fuses for the battery tender pigtails. i finally found out that napa auto parts keeps them in stock. they were around $2.00 for a pack of 5.

the tender itself puts out much less power than that- a 1.5 amp fuse would probably be ample. most of the tender line maxes out at 1.25A
the OP may be using his for heated clothing or other accessory. ( 7.5 amps is good for about 90 watts of load) correct fuse selection will use the lowest value possible ( correct for load, correct for size of wire) otherwise there is reduced protection in case of a short circuit. the tender pigtail is connected directly to the battery and often hangs down where it can be chafed thru the insulation, or burned on a pipe. most Radio shacks will carry any size fuse you want, as will an electronics supply shop or Grainger Mike |
