Road Glide - What's up???
I was in my local HD Dealer this weekend looking at a new 2013 RG & the salesman said that this bike won't be available next year. He couldn't or wouldn't tell me why but I'm guessing there going to be making changes to it. Can anyone shed some light on what they will be doing to that bike that they need to pull it off the line for a year??
Thanks!
Thanks!

while that has been rumored- the salesguy will not know what models are offered for 2014 until the Dealer Introduction in July.
we have more guess work and rumors than the iPhone.
one could guess that rumors could be used as a sales tactic
from a practical point of view- ALL the touring models are the same basic bike- you add or subtract radio and plastic to get the various versions.
The fixed fairing touring bike has been popular in recent years and has been carried on the line since the early 80's ( Tour Glide)

Actually, the sales guy does know, because H-D released that info. The Road Glide will not be offered for 2014 models.
There were various issues with fairing production and they have decided to take this time to either redesign or recreate a new styled fixed fairing for touring models. There are many rumors with what they will come up with, but there will be no 2014 Road Glide model.

Same rumor a few years ago which ended up just being the drop of the RG but added the RGU and RGC. (something along those lines)
Don't see with the popularity of the RG it going away but may be in for some changes.
I think at ths point they only know models dropped and not new models. So a change in the model code woud just be seen as a dropped model for now just like a few years ago.
Maybe it is a complete redesign but even if there isn't a 2014 a 2015 will be very early.

Well, I am a "sales guy" and we were informed of this a couple months ago. It came in the form of a memo from the MoCo. It listed several models getting axed for next year. Both Road Glides, the RK Classic, the Blackline, and a couple others. Based on your comment above, you seem to be implying that you work for HD in some capacity. If so, you surely know what HD net is.. The memo was on there as well.
