Default 1,000 Mile Service - Road Glide Custom

Getting ready to do the 1,000 mile service on my '13 Road Glide Custom, but unsure with what oil to use? What do you guys use?

I will be doing the work myself as it seems pretty easy and don't to throw out $400+.

Maybe this will be a little easier.....

How much of it in engine, primary, and trans?

Can I use AMSOIL 20W50 ADVANCE SYNTHETIC in all 3 holes?

I am a self service guru too....but...I highly recommend the initial service on the dealer. For one it establishes a relationship in case of later warranty issues...and second its piece of mind

Were just all cranky because we haven't got to ride all winter. Lots of options out there. The bulk of this disfunctional family will use Mobil 1, RedLine or Amsoil. All good choices.

Tom uses Mobil 1 20W-50 in all three holes, Dick uses HD Syn3 in all three holes, and Harry uses HD360 in the engine and Formula Plus in the trans and primary.

One of Tom's friends is using Valvoline while one of Dick's friends uses Redline and one of Harry's friends uses Royal Purple.

I've even heard of some guys using Amsoil, others using car oil in the engine, and even some guys using ATF in the primary.

So as you can see, you'll get a different response from every Tom, Dick and Harry you ask.

Just use any high quality oil that meets the specifications for the application and you'll be fine.

Do you want to know what I use?
