Default Transmission Fluid Color

So, at the 1K service I had the dealer do the service and use all synthetic oils. All cool.

I recently installed a new clutch cable and drained the tranny, replaced cable and then refilled with new HD SE synthetic oil.

When I drained the tranny fluid it was red-ish in color. The new HD SE synthetic oil was more or less clear/yellow-ish.

Are there other HD synthetic oils that are reddish?

I'm wondering if the dealer really used a synthetic oil at the 1K service as I requested.

Or maybe it's normal that it turns red-ish after ~4K miles?

Any thoughts would be appreciate (not that I can do much about it at this point).

Thanks

HD Syn 3 is tanish like normal typical engine oil. Standard tranny oil is usually red. I think they add coloring to determine fluid leaks, but that's besides the point

I run Amsoil 75W140 Gear lube in my tranny and it is light amber in color. I actually changed it last night for my 15k service (16k) and it was still light amber in color.

HD SE Synthetic oil is clear like honey and no.... After 4k it will still come out looking like clear honey. How do I know... Been there and done that too many times - okay well 5 times in 21k miles.

Redline tranny fluid looks like a slightly darker Pepto Bismol.
