:confused:I bought a 2002 Ultra classic last Year with around 26000 mile on it. Took to the dealer for the 30,000 mile service and he talked me into chaingeing the cam chain tensioners. He called me and asked if I knew the bike had a big bore kit installed. I asked him if it was a 95 inch and he said it was a screaming eagle 103. How can you tell? I ended up not being happy with the service and never asked him how he knew. Can anyone tell me how I can tell what the upgrade is? also the previous owner told me the bike was too loud so he traded the slip ons for a set of stock ones. I want the bike too be a bit louder. Is it Ok to put vance and hines slip ons on the bike?

I thought 95 was as big as you could go on an 88ci without a low end case rework. Beef up the case innards and such. :icon_denk:

I would start by having a dealer run the VIN number and see if it shows any work done at a dealership and as far as a slip ons you should be able to put anyone take fit and you like the sound of.

I found a screaming eagle catalog and the upgrade is availiable. With the case work. I am concerned about the ECM and possibly having to shell out more bucks for a tune. This is the first HD Iv'e had that is FI.

he needs to know if the dealer actually knows what he's talking about. i actually had a (car) dealer trying to sell me an older vw beetle point to the fuel pump on the engine and tell me it had been converted to fuel injection. if i had taken his word for it, i'd have thought i was the shit driving a 1965 fuel injected beetle. hey the dealer told me, it must be true.....

yeah that;;;; needs a different crank and case work to go from 88 to 103...
bought mine in 2010; 2000 UC, had big bore kit and screaming eagle heads but didn't know what else..the vin showed nothing special....had 36000 miles on it..when it hit 53000, I went into the cam chest to check tensioners and after checking the cams, found that it had se 257 cams but the original INA bearing still in it.. can't tell what you'll find when you're in there..... as far as the exhaust,, mine has got the thunderhead 2-1 and it's pretty loud. went back with s&s 570 ezstart cams and gear drive. it has never had a tuner on it but the 570 are close to the 257/s

Well take it somewhere else and ask, we can't see the it can we. Has the op appointed you as his spokesman?

Hell, if I had bought a bike thinkin' it had an 88 in it and then found out it had a Screamin' Eagle 103 upgrade, I'd be pissin' my pants with joy!! :icon_banana:
