I installed a set of the Triple 8's in April, they replaced the Commander II's which worked well but started to cup at about 10,000 miles. I have approx. 4500 on the Metzelers now and seem to be wearing well, handle great, and are quiet. Only miles will tell how long they last. I am running 36 front and 40 rear as per HD recommendation, works fine even loaded heavy.

Hurry up and get some miles on them metzlers!!! I need to know, since my originals, front and back are down to 4/32 (20,000 km) and am going on a 6000 km trip, including sturgis. Wonder if there are some deals on metzlers there.

I am working on it, trust me. Haven't taken my yearly week long bike trip yet, which will put another 2500-3000 miles on them. I will be sure to update this forum on the mileage once I need new tires.

Several posts on this thread with regard to tire pressure on the 888. Metz's web site is not clear. We need to be careful when stated TP on this tire, because several of the 888's are "reinforced" sidewall tires and carry approx 5 lbs additional pounds.

I am a few hundred miles short of 10K miles on a set of 888's The rear tire is feathering a little but there is loads of tread left. the front tire looks virtually new. These tires may go 20K ... we will see

Just installed a new set of 888's on my 08' EG. They handle great. Very responsive on the turns. I'm running 40 in the rear and 36 up front. They seem to be alright. We'll see how long they last. Best price for these tires was found at americanmototire.com. Check it out if your in the market for a set.

American Elites I was running since they had over 19k on them and were cupped badly.
If I got 19K miles out of ANY set of tires, I would be pretty damned happy.
