Tw222 or se255

Seems to be a lack of recent chatter about this cam. Anyone have any input, I'm interested!

Lol. I swear you could predict the time of year by when certain posts show up each year. Like the swallows of Capistrano. Here come the cam threads. It must be June already.

Really...bummer I might not get any good input on this. Worth a shot..

You will and I don't mean to be dismissive. Start by doing a search. There are other threads on this forum discussing cams. Just be forewarned, lots of opinions out there and by and large everyone thinks their's are best ;-)

Your best bet into talk with someone that builds engines. If you're lucky you may have a master tech at your dealership (or indi) who's an expert and can advise you based on your needs.

A lot of it depends on what your expectations are, your riding style, what kind of bike you have, and what if any future plans you have. They are both good cams for what they are, there's a lot of other good cam choices out there as well.

I had the SE255 cams in my 07 96inch Ultra.
Really helped a lot. 6th gear was more useable, helped with my mpg in 6th to.
If you are into touring and not looking for a high performance cam this cam will help you a lot. It is a good touring cam. Power hits around 2,000/2,500 rpm's and starts to fade around 4,200 to 4,500 rpm's. still pulls better than the stock cam up to the limiter hits.
I have never used the tw222 cam so I can not add anything about it.

I am looking for that low to mid rpm torque cam. Both of these look good to me with the 222 being a little more appealing based upon what I've read in the forums. Also really like the lope it gives the 103.

OZARKTOAD 06-03-2013 12:40 AM

Just don't know if the 222 is worth the extra money for basically the same result..

timber_tramp 06-03-2013 12:46 AM

For me the choice is between the 222 or andrews 57h.
Having to buy fuel management , I'm leaning towards the 222 and pv from fuel moto based on their ability to set me up with a good base map to match the cam , intake and exhaust .
Sometimes spending more $ up front = savings on tuning later.

I'm perfectly happy with the 255s in my 103.
