Default Installing a mini-tach onto a police road king

My FPHPi did not have the police tach when I bought it. I'm assuming the shop that I bought it from scavenged it, and they simply cut the wiring harness between the disconnect plug and the tach. So, I'm left with the disconnect, and 6 wires ending in clean cuts.

The harness on the bike has 6 wires:

1. Orange - ignition
2. Light green / purple - databus
3. Green / red - pursuit light on the tach face
4. Brown / gray - battery
5. Orange / white - accessory
6. Black - ground

The mini tach has 3 wires:

Black
Red
Yellow

I am assuming that the black is ground. But, I don't know what the yellow and red are, or what they will need to be spliced to on the police harness.

Does the red go to the ignition? Does the yellow go to the data bus? I do t want to just start plugging stuff in and hunting the right combo by switching inputs around.

I will try to add pics of the police tach harness and the mini tach harness. I'm posting from my phone and I'm not sure how.

Police Tachometers also have indicator lights in them for the pursuit lights, that is probably what the other wires are for.

Yeah, I think I have that wire accounted for. If it isnt needed then I will just keep it terminated, or pull it from the harness completely. The other unused wires may come in handy someday.

The 05-07 police bikes had abs as an option back then. So one of the wires will be for the ABS light which was/is located in the police tachometer.

Ah. My bike does have ABS. I am pretty sure that I have all the wires from the old harness identified, but there was a loose single wire with a coupler taped to it. It would make sense that it could be for the ABS indicator.

Does anyone know what wires I should splice the new tach into? Or is that even possible?

The tach and speedo have light bulbs for nigthtime, I bet that's what the extra wire is for.,,
