Default Secret hiding/stash in road bikes.

We should keep this quiet, but the road bikes have a little lockable secret compartment that can hold small items inside the fuel filter vault.

It is small, and should only be used to carry items that will not be affected by gas vapors, but it I have found it to be pretty handy on many occasions to keep something out of sight, but readily available on my bike.

You can slip in a small garage door opener, some ear plugs, change, registration papers, an extra home key.

Warning is that every ignition key will open everybody elses vault door, but do not expect it to be a problem unless you are keeping something of monetary value there.

Please list what items you may keep in your little locker.

Sorry Road King guys. This only applies to bikes with a lockable center mounted fueling port.

I put a small rag in there to help keep things clean when fueling. Thought that was what everyone did.

Yep, me too. Can't imagine anything else in there because when I refuel I fill up. So there is always a little spillage. Just a little. The rag idea though might be good.

i changed mine out for a quick push button type, who wants to go digging for your key every time you need gas?
